Who We Are

Inherent Motion Fitness Concepts was formed out of the belief that everyone has what it takes to be successful in taking charge of their health and fitness. In upholding our motto of “Conquer Yourself,” we aim to provide the support and tools needed for anyone to accomplish any goal, no matter how big or small.

Trainers/Team Members

Robert Shonfelt

Born in Savannah, Ga but growing up just south of Atlanta, Robert was homeschooled and spent hours playing outside with his siblings. An avid reader, his passion for fitness was sparked from a friend introducing him to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Encyclopedia of Body Building. That passion turned into an obsession when he began training mixed martial arts at 19 years old and struggled with understanding what to do when being told conflicting information from well meaning yet uninformed coaches. Countless hours of research and self experimentation led him to procure a personal training certification and fitness nutrition specialization from The American Council on Exercise in order to feel comfortable providing help to all of the people asking him for assistance.

Robert is a professional combat sports athlete, parkour/freerunning performer, obstacle course racer, and purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Game Design from Kennesaw State University but decided he couldn’t sit still long enough to be a professional developer and instead uses those skills for programming the appropriate challenges for his clients/students to conquer not only their goals but also themselves.

Joshua Meeks

Individuals be stronger, smarter, and more in control of their body.

Josh specializes in weight-training, hypertrophy work, and functionality, but he also develops vigorous HIIT-style workouts, as well as other forms oJosh is a personal trainer certified with the American Council on

Exercise with a background in strength conditioning and functional fitness.

As an Atlanta native, Josh has worked at multiple gyms throughout the

Metro-Atlanta area and has years of experience training with athletes and fitness professionals. With a background in Health Sciences from Georgia State University, he believes that form is the number one tool in crafting a stronger body. Josh’s focus lies with helping interval training. With years of experience in sports such as lacrosse, soccer, and combat sports, he has achieved a solid balance of working hard and playing hard, and brings that spirited approach to every training session.
